surreal and... well, there's so many possible meanings to this. where did the idea come from?

I am so honored, thank you. There are several layers of meaning in this painting, the core of it and where it came from was from experiences that I was dealing with a couple of months ago. I do not tell many of that meaning as it is to personal and was raw. The other meaning that is for others to know is explained in my blog if you wish to visit it, but I am always fascinated by the deeper darker side of ones self, and how it can sometimes translate into other symbols. lol if that didn't answer your question, the compositional elements in the painting really just evolved. The sheets and background, rabbit are not from any sources. And one of my good friends was the model for the shadow in the sheets, although I originally had her face and head showing just above the sheets. I am so glad you enjoy it! let me know if I made any iota of sense
