I just watched this, and besides never hearing about it, nor seeing it before, was interested to know what my fellow artists thought of this Carder Method. My first initial response was that there is no way that you could get that finished works from this method, as a beginner or a non painter/artist... But I suppose if you were to have the patience of the gods, you could match every single freeking spot and eventually get it right... Would take alot longer I would think then just learning to draw and after a while using your art instincts. The drawing aspects remind me alot of the methods used during the Renaissance period. The names and methods escape my memory at this time, but I know they were keen on using devices. Anyways, would love to just open this to conversation and question and get your feedback as a community as a whole.
I teach a Mentoring class to teens and adults, and its a very free form open class, that is really about taking each student in the individual direction that they are wanting to go in their own path and their own art. This has me intrigued as a tool for them, sorta like the "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" would. I find if i gather enough different methods and tools. or even a complex combination of different methods, I have what that certain student will need that pops and makes sense to them specifically, and they will get it..A light bulb situation per say
